Happy New Year! As we step into 2024, let's take a moment to look back at the real estate landscape from December. In Northumberland, we observed a slight cooling with the average sale price dipping to $712,432, a decrease of 3.9%.
This gives us a nuanced picture of the market's temperament, hinting at more opportunities for buyers. Meanwhile, Whitby shone brightly with a notable 13.9% jump in sale prices, soaring to an average of $1,107,785. This rapid growth signifies robust demand, making it a standout in the Durham region where properties continue to sell quickly, maintaining a strong 100% sale-to-list ratio.
Over in Port Hope, despite a 6.8% dip in average sale prices, the market achieved a perfect sale-to-list ratio of 100%. This tells us that even with price fluctuations, buyer confidence remains high, and sellers are pricing very effectively.
